On 17 November, president Nayib Bukele sent a bill to congress called the Ley de Emisión de Activos Digitales, or Digital Asset Emission Law. It is likely that this will be written into law. When that happens, this 33-page legislation will create a framework for El Salvador to issue a Bitcoin-backed tokenized security.
